And the most common asthma trigger for children is…

Do you know which of these is the most common asthma trigger among children: a) second hand smoke, b) cats, c) colds, or d) house mites?

If you answered c) colds, you got it right!

Second hand smoke, cats, house mites and dust are common asthma triggers, but viral infections, flu, colds and similar ailments are the most common. These triggers cause the most asthma symptoms, and if asthma has not been well controlled, they can lead to an asthma attack and possibly a visit to the emergency room. Bottom line, be sure to take those maintenance meds, especially this time of year when sickness is rampant.

Take care of yourselves!
