Check your homes… these foods may need to GO!

Food allergy parents do all this work to keep our kids away from dangerous foods, and then BAM! The allergens show up where we least expect them.

So check your pantry and fridge for this week’s allergy-related food recalls, per the U.S. FDA, below:

EGG allergy:

Whole Foods Market stores in the southwest region have recalled their pies – cherry, blackberry and peach flavors – due to undeclared egg. If you bought a whole or half pie, or even just a slice, from one of the affected stores, chuck it and then come in for a refund. (Details here.)

PEANUT allergy:

If you purchased a box of Atkins Nutritionals, Inc. Chocolate Candies, be aware that the sachets of candies may actually be Chocolate Peanut Candies instead. Should you happen to be one of the affected, contact the company, and they’ll help initiate a return. (Details here.)
