Food Allergy Awareness Week 2015 goes down in the AllerMates book as a success!

First, just let me say that YOU. ARE. AMAZING. AllerMates set out to create awareness during this year’s Food Allergy Awareness Week, and you certainly rose to the challenge. Thanks to your efforts AllerMates posts reached well over 70,000 on Facebook and Twitter, which means that together we brought A LOT of awareness to our kids’ health concerns and even armed people with info on how to help our children in an emergency.

While we celebrate this victory, we know that this does not solve our problem. We must continue to create awareness year round to help keep our kids safe. With that said, I provide you with a recap of what we shared this week, so that we all can march forward in our individual and collaborative efforts.

Severe Allergies 101:

Know the symptoms of a severe allergic reaction.

Always have an allergy action plan.

Learn the ABCs of safeguarding your allergy kid.

Teach your kids the allergy safety rules.

If you click on any of the above, you’ll see the details behind each. Please feel free to print, share, post… whatever you need to do to keep our momentum.

And as always, check in with AllerMates when you can. We’re posting new articles, resources and info regularly on our site, and I’m sharing new topics weekly on my blog. Know that we are here to help you.

Thanks again for a great Food Allergy Awareness Week. I’m honored to be among such a dedicated group of moms, dads and caregivers.
