Food allergy kids… bullied or supported?

Many people still don’t seem to understand the severity of food allergies. For example, I can recall a situation on my kids’ school bus, not too long ago, where a kid threw his PB&J sandwich at a girl simply because he knew she had a peanut allergy… I’m sure you can imagine my disgust.

On the flip side, my son, Ben, has many caring friends. So much so, sometimes they are the first to remind him to check the ingredients of a food. How lucky is he?!

My point is that for us, some kids are very understanding, while others are not at all. And I’d like to know what your experience is. Are people coming around? Or is there still a lot of work to do? Tell our community what you think in the Comments below.
