Showing our gluten-free kids (and families) some love!

Over the past few years, “gluten free” has become a mainstream term in our culture, and a way of life for so many. Some go gluten free just because it’s trendy, and they believe it to be a healthier way of eating. While for others, a grain-free diet is absolutely necessary for staying safe.

In fact, an estimated 1% of the U.S. population is believed to have celiac disease – a disease that causes gluten to wreak havoc on the intestines, and research indicates around 18 million in our country may be gluten sensitive. That’s A LOT of folks affected by this tiny grain protein!

If your child is among the many living with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity, we want to help you make folks aware of what they’re going through, AND we’ll be doing that all this week in what we’ve dubbed “AllerMates Gluten Awareness Week!

So tune in here, as well as to Facebook and Twitter, all week for easy-to-understand info to share with others and helpful tips you can keep for yourself.
