Recently, 22-year-old Bruce Kelly passed away after suffering from an intense reaction caused by peanut allergies. Although the chocolates he ate did not contain peanuts, the product was manufactured at a facility that used peanuts in other manufactured products, which set off Bruce’s peanut allergies. Anthony Ruelas picked up a classmate and carried her to the nurse’s office as she laid on the ground, suffering from a severe asthma attack. Although the rise in kids with food allergies is sometimes attributed to pesticides, the increased use of antibiotics and processed foods, it turns out, moms can lower their risk of having kids with food allergies by making certain changes during pregnancy.
