DID YOU KNOW?

Peanut allergies often last forever. If you're allergic to milk or eggs, there's a good chance you will outgrow it, but only 1 out of 5 kids will outgrow a peanut allergy.

P. NUTTY raps with us about your peanut allergy!

The word on the street is that you have a peanut allergy or want to know more about it. Well, take it from me – P. Nutty – you’ve definitely come to the right place. As a peanut myself, I’ve got the low down for kids with allergies.

One thing kids like you always want to know is why peanuts are different from other nuts. That's because a peanut is NOT a nut, it's a legume. And legumes grow in the ground, unlike nuts which grow on trees. That’s what makes me different from tree nuts – I grew in the ground, just like my cousin, the bean!

When people are allergic to peanuts, they get pretty sick if they eat them, so it's really important that they read labels and ask questions. Most kids will always have their peanut allergy, but that’s cool! Together, with the fine folks at AllerMates, we can learn to be safe AND have fun. So sit back, click on the links to the left and stay a while…

Let's get crack-crack-crackin’!
