DID YOU KNOW?

Cow’s milk has two proteins that cause a dairy allergy: Whey (“way”) and Casein (“cay-seen”). They can show up in the most unusual places, so be sure to check your labels for them!

PINT spills on your dairy allergy!

Hey there! My name is Pint, and I hear you have a dairy allergy or want to know more about it. Well, it’s your lucky day. I’m taking a few minutes off from a game of chase to help spill the milk, errr, I mean beans, on dairy.

Why, you ask? Because dairy is everywhere and that creates some real problems for kids with allergies. It’s in cheese, yogurt, butter, ice cream… the list goes on and on! On top of that, many of these things are used to make other foods, like pizza, casseroles and cookies. But don’t get all moooo-dy yet!

Many kids will outgrow their dairy allergy, and if you don’t, so what. There are plenty of substitutes for cow’s milk, and together we can learn to be safe AND have fun. Our friends at AllerMates have created a lot of cool stuff to show you how, so sit back, click on the links to the left and stay a while.

As for me, I gotta run. Until next time!
