DID YOU KNOW?

There is no cure for autism. However, discovering autism early and teaching children important skills at a young age can go a long ways.

Hello, I hear you have autism or want to know more about it. You’ve come to the right place. My name is Puzzles, and I know a lot about kids with autism. I will do my best to tell you what I know, but let’s go somewhere quiet. I don’t like large crowds or loud noise.

Autism affects a lot of kids – 1 in 68 to be exact. You may be able to tell a person is autistic based on the way he talks and acts. For example, he may not look at you when he talks; he may have trouble telling you how he feels; or he may not understand how you feel. I say “he” because autism is more common in boys. In fact, it’s five times more common in boys than girls.

There’s a lot more to know about autism, but I got a new picture app that I want to test at sunset. I’m going to leave you with our friends at AllerMates, who have created a lot of cool things to help you learn to be safe AND have fun. So kick back, check out the links to the left and visit as often as you’d like.

Bye.
